ECO4 & ECO+ schemes
These schemes offer grants to help low-income households pay for energy-efficient home improvements.
This includes replacing old boilers, insulating your home, and installing energy-efficient windows.
The ECO 4 scheme runs until 31 March 2026 and the average household could save £310 per year.
The Energy Saving Trust
The Energy Saving Trust offers a range of grants and discounts to help homeowners pay for energy-efficient home improvements.
For example you may be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which helps people install low carbon heating systems, such as heat pumps and biomass boilers

The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
This is a UK government scheme that pays you for the surplus low-carbon electricity your household generates, e.g. with solar panels.
To be eligible, you must have installed solar panels on your home and be generating electricity for your own use.

Local Grants
Many local councils offer grants to help homeowners pay for energy-efficient home improvements.
For example, the Sustainable Warmth Scheme in Essex offers up to £10K to help make energy efficient improvements to your home if your household income is below £30K.
